LAST hours for the LensCulture Portrait Awards 2017! We are seeking the new photographic portrait. All types and genres of portraiture welcome. Get your work in front of editors from National Geographic, the New Yorker, Vanity Fair and more. Have you taken a great portrait? If so, we want to see it! See link in BIO. For the rest of the day, we will be highlighting great portrait work here on Instagram. To share your photos, simply add the #lenscultureportraits and our editors will be sure to take a look. Tomorrow, we will resume with our weekly takeovers. Cheers! --- Photo by @troyschooneman This is a portrait of a 20-year-old man from the United Kingdom. He recounted to me how he was often beaten, bullied and even spat on at school due to his red hair, pale complexion and freckled skin. Even though he may never forget the bullying he endured during his school days, my aim with this portrait was to show him that we are all beautiful and unique in our own way.
